Relay for Life in Hollywood

Over the weekend, my office participated in Hollywood’s first Relay for Life at Helen Bernstein High School. The event raised awareness and money for the American Cancer Society and ran for 24 hours, from 9 a.m. on Saturday through 9 a.m. on Sunday.

The event featured food, live music, and the traditional Relay for Life Luminaria Ceremony that honors participants' family and friends who have had cancer. Hollywood
’s Relay for Life was also a green event- it was partially solar powered, there were plant and seedling giveaways, and vegan and vegetarian food was available.

I am very proud of everyone from my office who participated in the relay (particularly intern Charlotte who organized the CD13 team and stayed all 24 hours -- see photo of her catching a few zzz's in the tent), and I am looking forward to many more years of Relay for Life in Hollywood.
