On Saturday, March 26, the Farmer's Kitchen (1555 N Vine St) will offer two cooking workshops.
"Fermentation 101" will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Participants will learn the art and science of fermentation by making vinegar, yogurt and sauerkraut. They will also have an opportunity sample fermented products and take home one or more mother cultures.
"Mushrooms, Explained" will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Participants will learn mushroom basics from Chef Dirk Hermann, owner of LA FungHi, and sample varieties of raw mushrooms and dishes that feature them.
The Farmer's Kitchen is a project of Sustainable Economic Enterprises of Los Angeles, a nonprofit community development corporation dedicated to providing local food sources and food security, nutrition education, microenterprise incubation and related services to our surrounding community.
