The LA Public Library will be closed on Sunday, October 11, 2009 for a major mainframe computer maintenance and upgrade. Closures will include the following facilities:

- Goldwyn Hollywood (1623 N. Ivar Ave., 90028)
- Exposition Park (3665 S. Vermont Ave., 90062)
- San Pedro (931 S. Gaffey St., 90731)
- Mid-Valley (16244 Nordhoff St., 91343)
- North Hollywood (5211 Tujunga Ave., 91601)
- West Valley (19036 Vanowen St., 91335)
- West Los Angeles (11360 Santa Monica Blvd., 90025)
- Central Library (630 W. 5th St., 90071)
During the closure, access to the library's online catalog, materials circulation (check-in/check-out), and the materials reservation system will be unavailable. The upgrade to the online catalog/circulation system will allow the LA Public Library to provide better online services in the coming years.
