Hail-a-Taxi in Hollywood!

Yesterday, with the help of Hollywood businesses and community stakeholders, my office launched a new 3-month sign program to promote Hollywood’s Hail-a-Taxi project.

Hail-a-Taxi is a pilot program that allows taxis to pick up passengers in restricted zones, including red-curb areas. Yesterday afternoon, volunteers installed more than 200 signs on poles throughout Hollywood to encourage the use of taxicabs and further promote the program.

Now, pedestrians in Hollywood can hail a taxi as easily as they can in other major cities in the world. I am very excited that visitors and residents in Hollywood will have more transportation options and will be able to more easily enjoy the world class attractions, shopping and dining in this community!
