Black Cat Bar

Last night I joined LGBT community leaders and Silver Lake neighbors at a celebration of the Black Cat Bar's designation as a Historic Cultural Monument. In 1967, the bar (now known as Le Barcito) was the site of a major protest in support of human rights after a police raid resulted in the arrest of 14 gay men.

I strongly believe in human equality, including marriage rights for the LGBT community, and was proud to be part of this celebration.
