Today I joined several hundred people at the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce's annual luncheon where I delivered my eighth State of Hollywood address. Despite these challenging economic times, it was a real tribute to the Hollywood community that there were actually more attendees at this year's luncheon than last year's. Hollywood is not only ready to weather the downturn in the national economy, we're ready to help lead the country out of recession by example. (You can watch the video here.)
I also announced the launch of NavigateHollywood.com, Hollywood’s first interactive way-finding website. The Hollywood Property Owners Alliance managed the development of the site, which has received financial support from more than a dozen Hollywood businesses. In addition to being a one-stop shop for information about public transit, parking, taxi, and bicycle facilities, the site allows users to sign up to receive messages about street closures or special events via SMS text or e-mail. Check it out now!
