I joined the mayor and my colleagues on the council for the swearing in of interim Fire Chief Douglas Barry as the permanent chief of the Los Angeles Fire Department. Congratulations, Chief. It's an awesome task, to keep a city safe and reform a department at the same time. I know you're up to the job.
