Federal funds available to help non-profits serving people in need

Funding through the national American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) is now available to non-profit organizations serving people in need. Los Angeles County received $3.9 million to help programs that have seen an increase in demand for services because of the economic downturn.

Organizations with 501(c)3 status that are currently providing services to clients may apply for funds to help with costs associated with operating:
  • Food programs
  • Motel voucher programs
  • Rental and utility assistance programs
The funding is being administered through the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program, and more information is available on the Board's Los Angeles website which you can visit by clicking here.

The deadline to apply is May 5 at 12 p.m.
