Faith 2 Green's Environmentalists of the Year

This morning in Council, I honored the recipients of Faith 2 Green's Environmentalists of the Year awards.

Faith 2 Green, formerly known as Coalition on the Environment and Jewish Life (COEJL), connects commitment to environmental protection with moral values of Judaism.

The organization operates a Green Sanctuaries Program, among others, that is working to reduce the carbon footprint of faith institutions throughout the nation. It is currently developing a Green Bulk Purchasing Program to help member institutions purchase environmentally-friendly products at reduced costs.

The recipients of this year's awards are:
  • Lifetime Achievement Award: Governor Gray and Sharon Davis
  • Environmental Advocate of the Year: U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (WA)
  • Environmental Businesses of the Year: Steve Glenn, Founder and CEO, LivingHomes
    Ellen Strickland, Co-Owner, Livingreen
Gay Browne, Founder and CEO, Greenopia
